All About Our Staff:
Susan Frisbee, Library Director
Susan began as director at the Cannon Library in 2018. She loves to facilitate connections between the people of our community by maintaining the library as a warm, open, welcoming space for all, with interesting programs, events and reading materials. A retired art teacher, Susan enjoys drawing and painting in her free time, and reading plot-driven fiction all the time. She lives with her husband and extended family on a Delhi farm, and can sometimes be found on a tractor.
Mary Pelletier, Youth Services Librarian
Mary is the newest employee of the Cannon Free Library. As our youth services librarian, Mary creates two exciting children’s programs every week, and special programs several times a month. She and her family live in Bovina Center
JoAnn Antes, Library Clerk
JoAnn has been working for the Cannon Library since 2016. JoAnn enjoys the different roles and responsibilities during her busy day as well as the diversity of patrons that visit the library. The most enjoyable part of her day is helping the patrons find that special book or movie that best fits their taste. JoAnn is surrounded by co-workers who love their jobs and like to have fun while working hard, making it a positive environment
Florence Grill, Library Clerk
Florence began working at the library in 1998 and has been an integral part of the library ever since. She enjoys reading and crafting, but most of all spending time with her family. She particularly likes working at the library; talking to and working with patrons. She likes to read fiction, especially heartwarming stories about everyday people. You’ll always find Florence tending the circuit collections, the magazines and newspapers, repairing books and giving you a big friendly smile as she helps you check out your books.
Stephanie Mojallali, Library Clerk
Stephanie began working at Cannon Free Library in the Summer of 2017. You may hear her voice on your phone letting you know that the book you put on hold has arrived. She enjoys working in the adult section, but is just as excited working in the children’s room and helping Heather get kids connected with just the right book. Stephanie loves discovering new books and sharing her favorites with anyone looking for a “good read.”
Marilyn “Lynn” Oles, Library Clerk
Lynn has worked for the Cannon Library since 1987. Lynn went to work at SUNY Delhi in 2005 in the Athletic Department, but continues to work her Thursday night shift. Lynn enjoys being around books and being a people person; she enjoys interacting with the people of all ages, all backgrounds and all walks of life. The library is a community center and she hopes you will stop by and say “Hello”.
Larry and Linda Govendo, Maintenance Team
Linda and Larry are our maintenance team who take care of both the Cannon Library and the Cannon House along with the surrounding grounds. Larry started working at the library in 1985 and Linda joined in few years later. This married duo keeps our grounds and interior immaculate all while raising 5 kids. Larry loves the Yankees, camping, and spending time with family. Linda’s great joys in life are faith, family, and friends. Larry truly enjoys maintaining our grounds and allowing the community to enjoy our wonderful library. Linda’s favorite thing about working in the library is all the wonderful people she’s met and bringing her children to the library for story hour.
