Sign up for Summer Reading! Our special Sign-Up event will take place on Wednesday, June 25, from 3-5pm. Tracey* and Billy are bringing the DRAGON WAGON with a free book for each child.
Summer Reading Begins in July
Our regular 10: Storytimes and 3pm afternoon programs (Crafternoon, Lego Club, etc. will run as usual. SPECIAL SUMMER EVENTS are listed below:
Tuesday, July 1, 10:30 am — Juggler and musical entertainer NATE the GREAT (fun for all ages)
Wednesday, July 2, 3pm — Tie-Dye with Amy (parent supervision ages 4 and up)
Tuesday, July 8, 3pm — The UTICA ZOOMOBILE (all ages welcome)
Wednesday, July 9, 3pm — My Side of the Mountain Outside Art Adventure (pre-registration required and for ages 6-15 yrs.) Participants will receive a copy of the book and an art journal with which to sketch some of the natural wonders found in Hoyt Park. This group will meet again on Wednesday, July 23rd.
Thursday, July 10, 5:30pm — Mellow the Owl Returns
Friday, July 11, 3pm — Movie and popcorn
Wednesday, July 16, 3pm — Crafternoon! Design and paint a small canvas with acrylic paints and display your painting in our 3rd annual mini exhibit. This workshop is for the kids, but adults are encouraged to take home a mini canvas to paint and return for the adult portion of the exhibit. Let’s all get creative!
Tuesday, July 22, 4-5:30pm — Kopernick Observatory Inflatable Planetarium. For ages 6 to adult, and preregistration is necessary.

Thursday, July 24 at 10:30 Storytime — A visit from the Heart of the Catskills Humane Society. With Kittens?!
Thursday, July 31 at 10:30 Storytime — Meet Author Tracey West (*Dragon Masters books, as well as other books)
Thursday, June 31, 3pm — Story Squad! Marcus will be back for some quick story writing and an animation app

Tuesday, August 5, 5:30pm — Music with ROCCO from Da BLOCK (fun for all ages)
Wednesday, August 6, 3pm — Colorful Perler bead art creations
At Storytime on Thursday, August 7, 10:30 — A visit from Officer Jay Mohr and his K-9 companion
Friday, August 8, The Summer Reading Finale (time TBA) Outdoor games, prizes, ice cream for summer reading participants to celebrate reading success!
