Magician Ron Cain Performs

at New Berlin Library

The 2026 Perkins Memorial Performance Series continued Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 6 p.m. with an entertaining performance by magician Ron Cain, who presented his “Dino Magic Mystery Show” at the New Berlin Library.

The performance was the third of four free family entertainment programs being presented each Wednesday throughout August.

Sponsored by Andrea Miller and Ruso Donald Perkins in memory of their parents, Ruso and Jean Perkins, the annual series honors a family with deep roots in the New Berlin community. The performance series is organized by the New Berlin Library.

Due to ongoing renovations and equipment installation at Hyde Park, this year’s performances are being held in the New Berlin Library Community Room.

Ron Cain’s “Dino Magic Mystery Show” combined magic, adventure and a puppet dinosaur sidekick named Presto. The tricks were inspired by Cain’s travels around the world and took the audience on an imaginary journey to some of the world’s most fascinating landmarks.

During the show, Cain highlighted such wonders as the Great Pyramids of Giza, Easter Island, Stonehenge, the Oracle of Delphi, the Great Wall of China and the Lost City of Atlantis.

The approximately one-hour show concluded with Cain magically producing a lion head rabbit. Audience members were invited to form a line and gently pet the rabbit following the performance.

Adding to the evening’s fun, Stewart’s Shops donated a Make Your Own Sundae package. The donation included five gallons of vanilla ice cream, chocolate, caramel and strawberry syrups, rainbow and chocolate sprinkles, bowls, spoons and napkins. Everyone attending was able to create and enjoy a free sundae.

The final performance of the 2026 Perkins Memorial Performance Series will feature Dan the Snakeman on Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 6 p.m. The performance will last approximately one hour.

All Perkins Memorial Performance Series programs are free and open to the public. The New Berlin Library is located at 15 S. Main St. in New Berlin. Community members of all ages are invited to attend these family-friendly programs.
