Announcing Future Librarian

The Lisle Free Library is excited to announce that a new assistant director will be joining our team in September.  After months of secrecy, Cher Douglas (the current library director) and her husband (Tim) are thrilled to share that they are expecting their first child!  This little future librarian has already been caught practicing the “Shhh” sign.  On Mother’s Day, Cher and Tim were overjoyed when eating cupcakes with Cher’s mom to discover hidden blue icing – “Baby Douglas” is a boy!

As the new assistant director, Baby Douglas’s duties will include keeping the current director BUSY, inspiring new children’s programming and events, and advising Cher on new children’s book purchases. We are thrilled to bring this young talent into our organization!

Even though Cher will be preoccupied with preparing the new assistant director in his new role and responsibilities, the Lisle Free Library will still be hosting their annual Summer Reading and Reader Reward Programs from July 16th until August 29th.  This year’s theme, “Dragons, Dreams, and Daring Deeds”, features tons of fun entertainers, magical crafts, and daring storytime adventures!  Check back on our website soon for the full schedule.
