*Officially an Online Library*

The Lisle Free Library is proud to announce that it became an online library in the Four County Library System on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Over 15 months of combined volunteer and staff effort has made this tremendous accomplishment possible.  As an online library, the library’s entire collection can be viewed through the Four County Library System’s online catalog.

In addition to the benefit of providing public access to the digital archive of the Lisle Free Library’s collection, the library staff will now be able to track circulation on the computer with specialized software. This will replace the current system of using circulation cards and handwriting the borrower’s library card number on each item.  This upgrade will increase accuracy and efficiency of circulation records and speed up circulation desk transactions. Furthermore, it allows library patrons the ability to view and manage their borrowed items, profile information, and hold orders through their library card account.

Once again, the Lisle Free Library would like to say “Thank you!” to all of the volunteers, who donated their time and energy to this project. A combined total of 1,100 hours went into weeding, barcoding, and shelving our extensive collection.  We are overwhelmed by your generosity and dedication!
