Foraging for Wild Edibles and Making Tents with Newspaper

Foraging for Wild Edibles and Making Tents with Newspaper

The Summer Reading Program continues to “build a better world” at the Lisle Free Library this week.

On Wednesday, August 9th at 6:30pm, children will learn about the amazing bounty of wild edibles with a professional forager!  Wild edibles build a better world by opening our eyes to nature’s abundant yet untapped resources.  All ages welcome including curious adults. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Snacks will be provided after the program.

Then on Friday, August 11th, come learn how to build your own tent poles out of repurposed newspaper during Kiddo Craft Time from 3-5pm. These DYI tent poles will unleash creativity and imagination! Plus no more moving furniture to create secret retreats on a rainy day.

The Summer Reading Program is funded in part by the BOOKS Program and Senator Akshar.
