New Berlin Library Board Meeting Minutes for September 29, 2021

George Anderson calls the meeting to order at 6:04 pm.

Bills:

Bills approved and signed for September. George Anderson made a motion to approve September bills and it was seconded by Alan Fairbrother. Motion passed 5-0.

Minutes:

July Minutes approved. Motion Made by Alan Fairbrother and seconded by Jill Robinson. Motion passed 5-0.

Treasurer’s Report:

Donna handed out the August Balance Sheet and the January-August 2021 Profit & Loss Budget vs. Actual.

Director’s Report:

Michelle notified the board that the letter requesting the release of the library tax check will be sent to UVCS on September 30.

No board nominees or elections required in 2021.

Michelle told the board that Workman’s Comp Audit was completed in September.

Book sale scheduled October 4-30.

Michele informed the board about the work being completed by a new community service volunteer.

Halloween party canceled for 2021 and but a Halloween Reading Challenge and craft are scheduled.

Perkins family has opted to continue outdoor concerts in 2022, 4 concerts on Wednesdays during the month of August at Hyde Park.

Community Room usage increasing with book group, writers’ group, Springbrook , and the After School Program.

Holiday Closures: October 11 for Columbus Day, November 11 for Veteran’s Day, November 25, 26, & 27 for Thanksgiving, December 24 & 25 for Christmas, and December 31 and January 1 for New Years. Motion made by Alan Fair brother and seconded by Donna Wells. Motion passed 5-0.

Michelle informed the board of her intention to write a Walmart Community Grant in October for the purchase of 4 new DVD spinning racks.
