Update Regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The New Berlin Library has been monitoring the developments pertaining to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic.

At this time, we continue to operate with standard hours. However, should the Unadilla Valley School close due to the virus or we are asked to close by federal, state, or local government, we will close the library to the public. We are currently working on protocols in the event closure, including extended checkouts, fine waiving, and book-drop procedures.

In an effort to maintain a safe environment and address patron concerns, we have taken these additional measures.

The library will not be accepting donations of materials at this time.

The community puzzle has been ceased until the outbreak is over.

We have instituted enhanced cleaning and disinfecting protocols. Specifically, we have increased the frequency of cleaning handrails, doorknobs, book covers, tables, chairs, and the bathrooms.

A hand sanitizing station in located in the front entry of the library, antibacterial soap in the bathrooms, and surface disinfectant wipes will be available upon request.

As a precaution, we will begin wiping down the exteriors of returned items before shelving.

As a reminder, we have open wi-fi for patrons to bring their own devices to the library.

We encourage any concerned patrons, especially those in high-risk populations, to stay home if they are feeling ill or are concerned about potential exposure.

As a reminder, library staff can place holds and renew items over the phone.

We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you informed. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
