On November 14th the New Berlin Library held an After School Science Program. The After School Science Program is brought to the New Berlin Library by 4H and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chenango County. Educator, Liz Coffey, lead a Nutritional Program entitled “Root Vegetables”.

Participating children learned about the nutritional value of various root vegetables and their benefits to our bodies. They also learned how to cook a simple recipe using root vegetables, sauteed root vegetables.

After the lesson, the participants enjoyed drinks and Chobani yogurt. The yogurt is donated to the library by Chobani and will be available at all After School Science Programs at the New Berlin Library.

The schedule for the 4H/Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chenango County After School Programs is November 28 – Strawberry DNA. The after-school programs take place from 3:30-4:30 in the New Berlin Library Community Room. This program is free and open to the public.
