Kids’ Craft with Miss Cherie: Decorate-Your-Own Water Bottles
In an effort to raise environmental awareness and responsibility in both our children and ourselves, we are running a special series of kids’ crafts. In this one, taking place October 12th at 3:30 pm, children will be able to decorate their own metal water bottle to reuse. The child(ren) must be accompanied by a favorite adult. We are having a book sale in our Community Room on October 6th from 9am-3pm. Every purchase supports the library and with so many options to choose from, you are sure to find a new favorite book, DVD, CD, or other treasure. Stop on by!
Kids’ Craft with Miss Cherie: Clay Pinch Pots
Join us on August 31, 2018 at 3:30 pm to create your very own pinch pot! Once it dries you can use it to store jewelry, change, or any other treasures you love. Child(ren) must be accompanied by a favorite adult.

Kids’ Craft with Miss Cherie: Making Musical Instruments
Come join us Friday August 17th at 3:30 pm to make some homemade musical instruments in celebration of “Libraries Rock!” for Summer Reading. Child(ren) must be accompanied by a favorite adult. We hope to see you there!
Special “Summer Reading” Story Time!!
In honor of the 2018 Summer Reading Program, “Libraries Rock,” we will hold a special Story Time on Thursday, July 19th at 11:30 am. We will read music-based stories, and sing while the kids get to play with musical instruments. Finally, we will craft our own musical instrument for the children to take home. Kids age 2-10 are welcome and must be accompanied by a favorite adult.
“Libraries Rock” Summer Reading Challenge
Stop in to Fairview Library to pick up a pamphlet about the 2018 Summer Reading Challenge sponsored by Assemblyman Christopher Tague at the circulation desk. It includes a calendar for reading progress to be marked down on, which would then be sent to Assemblyman Christopher Tague’s office after the child has marked off 40 days or more. The child will be awarded a New York State Excellence in Reading certificate. Who knows what all that reading will inspire in your child? Happy reading!
