When the Lisle Free Library was chartered by Herbert H. Franklin on February 13th, 1922, he said that is was his “desire to serve the people of my native town by bringing about the permanent establishment, conduct and maintenance of a general library which, also, shall be a repository for the collection and preservation of local historical data, and be dedicated to the free use of the people of the Town of Lisle”. In accordance with Mr. Franklin’s vision for the library, the Board of Trustees actively seeks opportunities to preserve the historical records and artifacts bequeathed to the Library. It is within this spirit that we are proud to announce that the following records have been digitized and are available online at: http://lisle.advantage-preservation.com/
- Digital copies of the Lisle Gleaner from 1830-1929 (with the exception of 1850-1869)
- Whitney Point School District yearbooks from 1949-1994
