In honor of the 100 year anniversary of the first vote cast by a woman in New York State, the Preservation Association of the Southern Tier (P.A.S.T) has organized a self-guided historic walking tour of the Village of Lisle! Florence B. Chauncey made her mark on New York State history when she cast her vote to keep the Town of Lisle “dry” and free from the “liquor demon” on the morning of January 5th, 1918. In celebration of this historical event, an historical marker will be erected in the Village of Lisle on Friday, June 1st @ 1:00pm.
To participate in the walking tour, you can either picking up a pamphlet at the library or follow the walking tour on your phone at https://www.theclio.com/web/tour/summary?id=519
Happy Walking!!
