Suffragette Centennial Celebration Planning Committee

Did you know that the Village of Lisle was the site of the first vote by a woman in New York State? After women were granted the privilege of the ballot in 1917, Mrs. Florence Chauncey of Lisle cast the first vote during an election held on January 5th, 1918.

If you are a baker, decorator, writer, organizer, or simply want to help us celebrate this tremendous 100 year anniversary, please consider joining the Planning Committee at the Lisle Free Library on Monday, September 11th at 7:00 pm. You do not need to be in attendance at this preliminary meeting to be part of this wonderful effort.

All those interested should contact Cher Douglas at (607) 692-3115 or lislefreelibrary@gmail.com.
