Roxbury Library Unveils Community Mural Funded by MARK Project Grant<\/h1>\r\n \r\n\r\nCelebratory Opening Scheduled for October 4, 2025 <\/strong>\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nRoxbury, NY \u2014 The Roxbury Library Association is proud to announce a new public mural to be installed on the exterior of the library. The funding is made possible through the NY State Homes and Community Renewal NY Main Street Program administered by the MARK Project which aims to support cultural and economic renewal in rural communities across the Catskills.\r\n\r\nThe mural is being designed and painted by James R. McIlroy, a celebrated mural artist from Oneonta, NY. McIlroy was awarded the commission following a competitive selection process that drew proposals from artists across the region. His design was inspired by visiting the John Burroughs Boyhood Rock and his appreciation for Roxbury\u2019s enchanting natural environment.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to bring what will be a meaningful and lasting piece of public art to Main Street.\u201d said Lorrayne Lang-Bolger, President of the Roxbury Library Board of Trustees. \u201cThe mural will capture a feature of Roxbury\u2019s natural beauty.\u201d\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe public is invited to a celebratory event on Saturday, October 4, 2025, 4 to 5 pm at the Roxbury Library. The event will include remarks from the artist, project partners, and community leaders.
