NEW DATE: Jerald Milanich’s presentation on the Stratton and Hicks families of Roxbury will be held Monday, October 27 at 10:00am in the library. You’ll learn about the mansion at Stratton Falls – its origins and recent history.
Jerald is Curator Emeritus of Archaelogy at the Florida Museum of Natural History on the campus of University of Florida.
Our mural was unveiled at a community ceremony on October 4. The mural was made possible by a grant from the NY State Homes and Community Renewal Main Street Program, administered by the MARK Project. Speakers at the ceremony included the artist James McIlroy of Oneonta; library Trustee Abigail Wendell; library Director Mary Jean Scudder; and MARK representative Alice Haroldson.
The inspiration for foxes came from a photograph taken in Kirkside Park, Roxbury, by Trustee Cathy Cammer.
