New Berlin Library Minutes for March 31st, 2021

Darla Smith opens the meeting at 6:00 pm.
Lynn LaValley makes a motion to approve the meeting minutes from January, seconded by Jill Robinson.
Motion carries 6-0.
Bills from February and March are passed to each board member to sign. Angelica Schmidt makes a
motion to approve these bills seconded by Darla Smith. Motion carries 6-0.
Treasurer\u2019s Report:
Donna Wells provides a copy of the Profit and Loss Budget vs. Actual for January through to March 2021
and the Balance Sheet as of 3\/31\/21. Donna also updates the Board that the sales tax was filed. She
informs the Board that all accounts in Cooperstown have been closed and the money has been
transferred to NBT Bank as had been previously discussed.
Director\u2019s Report:
Michelle discusses the progress of the Perkins Summer Concert Series at Hyde Park. The event can be
covered under Village insurance. Advertising for events will occur with yard signs. Each concert will run
from 6:00pm-7:00pm. Three out of four contracts have been affirmed.
Michelle updates the Board that she has filed NYS Annual Report. Numbers are down related to the
pandemic. Michelle provides a summarized version of the Annual Report so that Board members can
see attendance and circulation stats. She has the full Annual Report available as well.
Discussion about opening up the Community Room occurs. Lynn LaValley expresses concerns about
Spring Break Covid rates increasing. Donna Wells mentions similar concerns. Re-opening Community
Room tabled until a special meeting tentatively scheduled for the end of April. Michelle updates the Board on submitting a Community Foundation grant application to get a new
circulation computer. Grants will be harder to obtain this year related to new demand. If the library does
not get this grant Michelle states she will apply for other grants.

Darla Smith makes a motion to close the meeting at 6:14 pm seconded by Jill Robinson. Motion carries
