New Berlin Library Board Meeting Minutes<\/b><\/p>\n
May 27, 2026<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Present:<\/b><\/p>\n George Anderson, President<\/span><\/p>\n Jill Robinson, Trustee<\/span><\/p>\n Abigail Magrath, Secretary<\/span><\/p>\n Donna Wells, Treasurer<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Also Present:<\/b><\/p>\n Michelle Priola, Director<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Absent:<\/b><\/p>\n Darla Smith, Vice President<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n George Anderson called the meeting to order at 5:59 PM.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Jill Robinson made a motion to accept the May bills. George Anderson seconded the motion. Motion carries 4-0.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n George Anderson made a motion to accept the April minutes. Jill Robinson seconded the motion. Motion carries 4-0.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Treasurer\u2019s Report: <\/b><\/p>\n Donna Wells handed out the treasurer\u2019s report. No issues were found. Jill Robinson suggested calling Verizon to do an all-in-one plan to see if we can lower the bill. Abby Magrath made a motion to accept the treasurer\u2019s report. Jill Robinson seconded the motion. Motion carries 4-0.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Director\u2019s Report:<\/b><\/p>\n Michelle presented the director\u2019s report. <\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Michelle asked the board to make a motion to hire Karan Blackman effective starting June 6, 2026. George Anderson made the motion. Donna Wells seconded the motion. Motion carries 4-0.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Michelle informed the board of summer events happening at the library. There will be a children\u2019s coloring contest to kickoff the summer reading program. On June 29, there will be a Fourth of July art class. Michelle will be hosting a Fourth of July art class at Chase. There will be a book cart at Chase for residents who would like to check books out. The summer reading program will run July 1- August 31. Dino Camp July 27- August 13.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Perkins Performance Series:<\/span><\/p>\n August 5- Science Heroes: Digging It! $400<\/span><\/p>\n August 12- Dirt Road Express Band $500<\/span><\/p>\n August 19- Ron Cain: DinoMagic Mystery Show $410<\/span><\/p>\n August 26- Dan the Snake Man; Animal Experience $500<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Library painting will begin on June 17, 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Michelle updated the board on the New Berlin Village Crawl.
