After women were granted the privilege of the ballot in November 1917 by the New York State Legislator, the &#8220;Ladies of Lisle&#8221; jumped at the chance to exercise their newly granted right at a option election held on January 5th, 1918, which would determine if alcohol could be sold legally in the Township of Lisle.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #333333; font-family: 'Georgia','serif';\">Please join us on Saturday, October 21st from 1-4pm as we celebrate the 100 year anniversary of this historical event!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #333333; font-family: 'Georgia','serif';\">There will family friendly games and activities all afternoon. Come meet &#8220;Elizabeth Cady Stanton&#8221;!
