Author Tim Duerden, author, historian, and Director of the Delaware County Historical Association, will be in the library for a presentation of his recently published historical novel, Escape from the Sugar House.

The book tells the tale of a teenaged Levi and his incarceration by the British as a POW during the American Revolution. While much of the book is fiction, it is based on actual episodes of young Levi’s experiences. After the war, Levi and his wife, Mary Mead, moved to Dunk Hill in Walton and lived there until their deaths in the mid-nineteenth Century.

Copies of Escape from the Sugar House will be available for purchase at this free event.
