Willow Wreath Workshop

Saturday, Dec 6th 9 am to 1 pm

Come and make a Christmas Wreath by weaving the core and then decorating! It will make a fine seasonal addition to any front door. Bonnie Gale, our renowned local willow basketmaker, will teach the workshop. Participants will be weaving their own willow wreath. It starts with weaving a hoop and then adding weavers from the left and then the right. As a result, pockets are created into which embellishments can be pushed. This is a completely all-occasion wreath and can be reused from one celebration to the next! Seasonal embellishments are available but please bring any decorations that you want to use on your own wreath or bring fresh greens to share. Artificial greens will also be available. Please bring your own sharp hand-held pruning shears.

This is a free adult workshop to be held on Saturday, December 6th in the library from 9 am to 1pm, although some may finish earlier. Space is limited. Pre-registration is necessary. Please register in person at the Library (hours are 11am to 6pm Monday through Friday and 9am to noon on Saturday) or by calling the Library at (607) 859-2420 and leaving your name, phone and email. If you are then unable to attend, please let the Library know so someone on the waiting list can take your place.

Food Drive

As we enter this season of gratitude, we’re reminded how much a simple act of kindness can mean. The library is now collecting donations for the Southtown Food Pantry and every can, box, or bag helps make a difference for our neighbors in need.

🕓 Collection Period: Now – Dec 1st

Most-needed items include:

  • Canned soups, vegetables, fruits, and beans
  • Pasta, rice, and boxed meals
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Breakfast items (cereal, oatmeal, granola bars)
  • Personal care items (toothpaste, soap, deodorant)

Give what you can. Let’s fill the box together. ❤️
