Puzzle Day!

An event for all ages:  Wednesday, January 29, is National Puzzle Day, and the Smyrna Public Library invites you to come from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. to put together or to solve a variety of types of puzzles.  There will be jigsaw puzzles, crossword and word search puzzles, and Sudoku available.  If you prefer a different sort of activity to puzzles, we have board games and card games and coloring.  We will have refreshments, and children can go home with free books courtesy of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.  Bring the whole family!

Our copying and printing policy has changed.
Effective immediately:
COLOR copies are now 25 cents a page.
Please ask the Librarian for assistance
so you don’t end up owing money $$ unintentionally.
The policy for black & white copies remains the same:
10 pages FREE
10 cents a page for each page after 10.

Genealogy Program

Four County Library System Digital Services Librarian Brian D. Lee will present a program on genealogy at our library on Tuesday, October 22, at 4:30 p.m.  He will focus on:  the library edition of ancestry.org; FamilySearch.org; HathiTrust, a database of millions of digitized books, including some of local interest; and NYS Historic Newspapers, a digitized collection of New York State newspapers provided by the Empire Library Network.  He will also discuss DNA results and what to do with them.

Ice Cream Social

We know you look forward to it every year.  Our 20th Annual Ice Cream Social is scheduled for Monday, August 12th, at 6:30 p.m. at the Smyrna Firehouse.  You will have your choice of an array of scrumptious desserts, and ice cream, too, of course, all for just $2.00 per person.  There will be music, also, provided by the Blue Parsley Boys, and by Michael Khoury on keyboard who will be joined by Clara Lantz singing a few songs.  We know that a great time will be had by all.
