New Book, Movies, and Toy

We are excited to announce several new items this week:

New adult non-fiction, large print:  Spirit of the Horse: A Celebration in Fact and Fable by William Shatner with Jeff Rovin.  William Shatner has been riding horses since childhood and feels a deep love for these majestic animals.  He sponsors the annual Hollywood Charity Horse Show.

New DVDs for adults and older teens:  Along Came Polly, American Pie Presents: Band Camp, The Da Vinci Code, Good Luck Chuck, The Nanny Diaries, and You Got Served.

New toy:  Llily the Llama—she’s llovely!

A Puppet Show for All Ages to Enjoy!

On Monday, July 31st, at 6:00 p.m., the Robert Rogers Puppet Company will present “Skyscraper Acres” and everyone is invited.  It will be presented at the Smryna Town Hall.  After the show, we can all go over to the library to listen to the concert by the Smyrna Citizens’ Band at 7:30.  Come one, come all!

We are have two new books this week, both in adult non-fiction in regular print:  Cooking That Counts: 1,200- to 1,500-Calorie Meal Plans to Lose Weight Deliciously by the editors of Cooking Light magazine; and 365 Essential Survival Skills: Knowledge That Will Keep You Alive by Creek Stewart, who specializes in disaster preparedness.  Both books feature lots of photos; I find the ones in Survival Skills to be particularly instructive.
