Happy Halloween!

These are photos from our most recent Children’s Storytime events: Mother Goose (Oct. 15) and the painting project led by Jill Kraft of The Artists’ Palette (Oct. 28). Once again, we thank the Chenango Arts Council for funding Ms. Kraft’s workshop. Mother Goose will visit us again in the spring.

We hope you have a safe and fun Halloween.

Art Workshop for Kids

On Friday, October 28th, at 10:30 a.m., at Children’s Storytime, we will go batty for spooky books, and, as a Halloween treat, Jill Kraft of The Artists’ Palette will join us for some painting fun.  We’d love to see Halloween costumes that day!  To register for the art workshop, please contact the library by Wednesday, October 26 (607-627-6271).  We ask that you bring a smock or large shirt to protect children’s clothes (or costumes) while painting.

Banned Book Display

In conjunction with my (your librarian’s) program of September 24th for Banned Book Week, I have posted information on the books most frequently challenged in 2015, along with free buttons and bookmarks proclaiming “Stand Up for Your Right to Read.”
