Calligraphy, the art of hand lettering, is wonderful to learn for addressing invitations, making posters, or just for fun. Join Sidney Library’s own Joyce Neal on Sunday 3/15 from 2:00 – 3:30pm to learn the basics of calligraphy. Ms. Neal taught art for 20 years in Sidney Central School and also has experience teaching adult education classes through BOCES.

Were you impressed by the cut paper artwork of Shannon Delany and would like to learn more about it? On Saturday Feb. 7th at 10am, Ms. Delany is hosting a workshop on the papercutting process. You can learn to make a beautiful cut paper heart or Celtic knot.

Sidney Library’s own Linda Shea will teach a workshop this Wednesday, March 26th at 6:30pm where she will demonstrate techniques for making birthday cards. Each participant will go home with 5 handmade cards. For a materials fee of only $5, this workshop is definitely worthwhile.

Cornell Cooperative Extension has organized a workshop designed to help you get the most from your food budget. On January 9th, 16th, and 30th at 6:30pm, CCE will share tips on how to be more successful while grocery shopping and suggestions for healthy, inexpensive meals. There will also be food demonstrations, recipes, and physical activity ideas for participants.
