The Delaware County Historical Association will have an exhibit on display in the Sidney Library’s Smart Community Room now through March 30th, 2016. The focus is on hand quilting from 1770 – 1916. All quilts were made in the local area. We hope you will stop by to see these beautiful items anytime the library is open.
Would you like to join others and touch up your sewing skills? Join us at the Sidney Library for a holiday sewing workshop where you will learn how to make a pillow case with no raw edges using a special technique. This class will be on Saturday November 7th, 2015 at 10am. Participants age 12 and older are welcome.
This workshop is free but registration is required. Call us at 563-1200 or register at our circulation desk. You will need a few items like a sewing machine and thread – a full list will be given to you upon registration.
Do you enjoy quilting? Would you like to connect with other area quilters? The Sidney Library’s quilting group will resume their biweekly meetings beginning in September. The group meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month in the community room. All are welcome to join beginning on Tuesday September 8th, 2015 from 1 – 4pm. Be sure to bring your sewing machine!
Are you interested in the stories behind the artwork? Join us on Saturday, January 10th at 1pm in the Smart Community Room as Jim Bryden speaks about his quilts. Mr. Bryden’s work is very intricate, with lots of beautiful patterns. Many samples of his work will be shown. Please join us for this free presentation!
