Do you enjoy historical fiction? Join the Library Friends for their book discussion group on October 21 at 11:30 am. The book is Invention of Wingsby Sue Monk Kidd, which is set in the South in the early 1800’s and centers around the anti-slavery movement.
The Friends of the Libraries restart their monthly movie event this Sunday, September 28th at 1:30pm in the Smart Community Room. This month’s movie is Dead Poets’ Society featuring Robin Williams and is free and open to the public.

On Wednesday, July 16th at 6:30pm, Dan the Snakeman will be doing a program at the Sidney Library. This program, which is free and open to families, will be a time for Dan to share information about his reptiles and children will also be able to touch some of the animals. We hope you can join us!
As part of our summer entertainment program, the Sidney Library staff will host science experiments for school age kids. These activities use everyday household objects to learn more about science in our world. The dates and topics for July are:

Open hours have also been established. During these times, patrons are welcome to stop by for one-on-one help, such as using their e-reader or help using a particular website. In addition, we have scanners and a Mac computer available for use.

The Friends of the Libraries are holding their big book sale April 10-12. This is held in the Smart Community Room and offers hardcover and softcover books, as well as CD’s, DVD’s, and magazines for sale.
