Winter is hard on birds, so it’s up to us to help them. That’s why we will be making bird feeders on Tuesday, January 12th, 2016 from 2 – 3 pm in the Public Computing Center (PCC) downstairs in the library. School age kids are welcome to join us for this craft. (This is a half-day for Sidney students.)
Kids Club will follow at 3:30, and kids are welcome to stay and play Minecraft, use iPads, or have fun on the Smartboard.
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Delaware County will present a series of free workshops on Wednesdays from 6 – 7:30pm during January and February. They begin this Wednesday, January 6th.
Learn strategies and skills that will help you be supportive of your child’s development, including games that can help your family be active and healthy. There will be a Focus on Food segment featuring healthy meal and snack ideas for children ages 3-11 with recipes and samples. You will also receive free small kitchen tools.
Unlike our other programs, you should register for these workshops directly with CCE by calling 865-6531 or emailing email@example.com. These classes also count toward credit hours for daycare providers.
Wednesday, December 23rd, 2015 is a half day of school for Sidney students. Why not join us from 2 – 3:30pm for a fun craft activity? Kids of all ages can join us in the children’s area to make a holiday decoration. (All are invited to stay for LEGO time, which begins at 3:30.)

The family entertainment for next week is Super Hero Academy for kids. Bring your little ones to the Smart Community Room on Wednesday July 15th, 2015 at 6:30pm, where they will create their own superhero costume (and one for their ‘sidekick’ if they bring a stuffed animal), complete an obstacle course, and get an official superhero certificate.
Don’t forget to keep reading. Bring in your completed summer reading logs to earn free books!
Kids are invited to join us as we celebrate the beginning of this summer’s reading program. On Saturday June 27th from 1-3pm, we will be on the lawn of the Sidney Library offering face painting, crafts, and giveaways. Kids can pick up their summer reading logs and information about our big plans for this summer. We will also have treats for you to enjoy, such as popsicles and Chobani yogurt. We hope to see you there!
In case of bad weather, the event will still take place, but we will move inside to the Smart Community Room.
Join us for a fun program called “Get Your Game Face On”, which will be held in the Sidney Library’s PCC on Friday, January 2nd, 2-4pm. School age kids are invited to join us to play games on the Wii. Board games and other activities will also be available.
With school being closed on Monday, December 22nd, is your child looking for something fun to do? Join us at the Sidney Library at 2pm when kids will be able to create a homemade ornament for their own tree or to give as a gift.
Kids in grades K-6 are invited to stop by the library on Tuesdays from 3:30 – 4:30pm and check out the new Kids Club. Downstairs in the PCC (Public Computing Center) we will meet to play games, do team challenges, make crafts, and more. We hope you will join us for some fun!
