Friends of the Libraries will show a movie on the big screen in the Smart Community Room on Sunday, November 23 at 1:30pm. Saving Mr. Banks is about the author of Mary Poppins, P.L. Travers, and her experience meeting and working with Walt Disney to adapt the book into a movie. This movie is free to the public. You can watch the trailer below:
The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein is the next book to be discussed at the Friends of the Libraries book discussion group. The group will meet Tuesday, November 18th at 11:30am. Anyone is welcome to attend the meeting, including those who have never been before. We hope you will stop in!
The Friends of the Libraries are holding their big book sale April 10-12. This is held in the Smart Community Room and offers hardcover and softcover books, as well as CD’s, DVD’s, and magazines for sale.
The hours are as follows:
- Thursday, April 10th: 6 – 8pm
- Friday, April 11th: 9:30am – 5pm
- Saturday, April 12th: 10am – 1pm
The Friends of the Libraries will hold their monthly book discussion at 11:30 am next Tuesday, February 18th in the Smart Community Room to discuss the book The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. All are welcome.
The Friends of the Libraries will be showing a movie on the fourth Sunday of each month at 1:30 p.m.
This month (September 22nd) watch “42”, a biographical film written and directed by Brian Helgeland about the life of baseball player Jackie Robinson.
