Wednesday, December 23rd, 2015 is a half day of school for Sidney students. Why not join us from 2 – 3:30pm for a fun craft activity? Kids of all ages can join us in the children’s area to make a holiday decoration. (All are invited to stay for LEGO time, which begins at 3:30.)
Join local crafter Pat Oertel on Monday November 9th at 6:30pm to make your own gift/trinket box. Choose from one of two designs and make your own box that can be used for giving a small gift, or to hold your own keepsakes.
This workshop is $4 (to cover the cost of materials) and registration is required. You can register online, in person, or by calling us at 563-1200.
Kids are invited to join us as we celebrate the beginning of this summer’s reading program. On Saturday June 27th from 1-3pm, we will be on the lawn of the Sidney Library offering face painting, crafts, and giveaways. Kids can pick up their summer reading logs and information about our big plans for this summer. We will also have treats for you to enjoy, such as popsicles and Chobani yogurt. We hope to see you there!
In case of bad weather, the event will still take place, but we will move inside to the Smart Community Room.
Calligraphy, the art of hand lettering, is wonderful to learn for addressing invitations, making posters, or just for fun. Join Sidney Library’s own Joyce Neal on Sunday 3/15 from 2:00 – 3:30pm to learn the basics of calligraphy. Ms. Neal taught art for 20 years in Sidney Central School and also has experience teaching adult education classes through BOCES.
This workshop is free, but registration is required. You can sign up at our circulation desk, online, or by calling 563-1200. Space is limited so give us a call to reserve your spot today!
Kids in grades K-6 are invited to stop by the library on Tuesdays from 3:30 – 4:30pm and check out the new Kids Club. Downstairs in the PCC (Public Computing Center) we will meet to play games, do team challenges, make crafts, and more. We hope you will join us for some fun!
The Sidney Library staff have planned a fun afternoon of Halloween activities for kids on Friday, October 24th. We invite families to join us for one or more of the following events:
All activities are free and popcorn will be provided. We hope you will join us, and feel free to wear your Halloween costume!
