Join us on Wednesday, March 9th at 4pm to learn how to download ebooks for free through the library. If you have a smartphone, tablet, or e-reader (such as a Kindle or Nook), come join us! Participants should bring their device (fully charged), their library card, and library pin number.
This class is free but registration is required. Sign up in person at the library circulation desk, call us at 563-1200, or register online to save your spot.
Due to a system upgrade, no holds can be placed from Tuesday, June 23 – Friday, June 26, 2015.
This means we are not able to reserve items for you if you come in to the library. Also, if you normally place holds online through the 4CLS website, they will not save to your account during this time.
The system should be back to normal on Saturday, June 27th.
Sorry for the inconvenience!
The Sidney Library and Four County Library System are participating in an event called Big Library Read. Think of it as a worldwide book club.
Now through 6/23/15, you are invited to participate by borrowing a digital copy of the suspense novel Eyes On You by Kate White. Both ebook and audiobook versions are available, and you will receive the copy immediately – there is no waiting list. Thank you to the Overdrive company and the publishers of this book for making so many copies available to our patrons!
In addition to the large selection of books in our library, patrons can also borrow ebooks or audiobooks through the 4CLS Download Zone. You can search by category (historical fiction, fantasy, etc), see what’s new, or search for a particular author. Any ebook or audiobook that is unavailable can be put on hold, and you will receive an email when it is ready for you.
Many people listen to downloaded audiobooks on their smartphones, through the Overdrive app. Check it out on your own, or stop by the library to learn more.
There will be a Community Game Day this Saturday, January 18th from 12:00 – 3:30pm in our Smart Community Room. Bring your family down to the library for board games and puzzles. You can bring your own family-friendly games, or play one of the games provided.
