Earth Day Movies for Kids 4/15 and 4/17


During the Sidney School District‘s spring vacation, the Sidney Library will be hosting two movies in honor of Earth Day. Please join us for the following movies, both of which will be shown in the Smart Community Room:

  • Tuesday, April 15th at 1:30pmWALL-E

Movie Showing 3/23 – The Butler

The Friends of the Library will be showing a free screening of The Butler, directed by Lee Daniels. This film takes place during the 20th century through the eyes of a White House butler. With an all-star cast that includes Forest Whitaker, Robin Williams, and Oprah Winfrey, it should be a great look into the history of our country. We hope you will join us on Sunday, March 23 at 1:30pm in the Smart Community Room for this free event.

Movie Showing 2/23

The Friends of the Libraries will be showing the movie Lincoln, directed by Steven Spielberg and featuring Daniel Day-Lewis (as Abraham Lincoln) and Sally Field (as Mary Todd Lincoln). Join us tomorrow, Sunday February 23rd at 1:00pm in the Smart Community Room. The event is free to the public. You can view the movie trailer below.


Movie Showing 1/26

On January 26th, the Friends of the Libraries will host a movie showing of Quartet, released in 2012 and starring Maggie Smith, Michael Gambon, and Billy Connolly. This movie is free to the public, and begins at 1:30pm in the Smart Community Room. You can watch the trailer below!


The Homecoming: A Christmas Story

The Friends of the Libraries will show this special pre-holiday film starring Patricia Neal, Richard Thomas, and Edgar Bergen on Sunday, November 24th at 1:30 pm. This is a heart warming story of events that happened on Christmas Eve 1933 to one rural American family. Don’t miss it!
