Get Caught Reading is a nationwide campaign to remind people of all ages how much fun it is to read. Since May is Get Caught Reading Month, we encourage you to bring in a photo for our Get Caught Reading board in the Sidney Library. Take a picture of someone you know reading: grandparents or parents reading to kids, kids reading, someone reading to their pet, etc. Anyone reading can be added to the board.
If you would prefer, you can DM (direct message) us a picture on our Facebook page
. Be sure to include the first name and last initial we should include as a caption for the photo. All photos sent through direct messaging will be considered, and we will pick some of our favorites to share throughout the month on our page.
The Sidney Library is excited to be part of the county-wide Seed Swap program again this year. Look for the small wooden card catalog near our main desk.
We have a small variety of seeds to start off the program. Bring in your old seeds (from 2016) or leftovers from this spring’s planting. Flower, herb, and vegetable seeds are all welcome.
This program will run through the end of May. See what’s here, and help yourself to a few seeds for your own garden.

All are welcome to this free event, which is sponsored by the Friends of the Libraries.
We are looking for kids to help us celebrate National Library Week with Library BINGO! During the week of April 9-15, 2017, BINGO cards will be available in the children’s area for kids to complete. Turn in your finished BINGO card at the circulation desk and receive a book and prize from our treasure box.
Twilight Tales, our evening story time for kids, will resume on Wednesday nights from 6:30 – 7:00 pm, beginning April 5th, 2017.
This is a short story time to accommodate those who cannot make it to our daytime story times. We read a few stories and sing a few songs. It isn’t too long so the kiddos can still make it to bed on time.
