Writers’ Group will meet in the Smart Community Room on Monday, April 28th at 6:30pm. New members are welcome to attend – no registration necessary.
Next week, April 27th – May 3rd, is National Preservation Week, which takes time to recognize the importance of libraries and other institutions when it comes to preserving books, manuscripts, films, maps, and artwork.

In observation of Easter, the Sidney Library will be closed this Sunday, April 20th. We will resume normal hours on Monday.
During the Sidney School District‘s spring vacation, the Sidney Library will be hosting two movies in honor of Earth Day. Please join us for the following movies, both of which will be shown in the Smart Community Room:

The Sidney Library welcomes Lily Wadsworth to our staff. Lily will be teaching several beginner computer classes in our Public Computing Center (PCC). Please register by calling the library, visiting our circulation desk, or online. The following classes are being offered:
Our featured exhibit in the Smart Community Room for the month of April is JoAnn Bertone Chmielowski. JoAnn’s nature photographs make use of reflections and unusual perspectives, and are paired with beautiful frames carved from local wood.
This exhibit is open for viewing any time our library is open. We encourage you to stop back and visit it!
The Friends of the Libraries are holding their big book sale April 10-12. This is held in the Smart Community Room and offers hardcover and softcover books, as well as CD’s, DVD’s, and magazines for sale.
The hours are as follows:
Photo club, run by local photographer Thomas Hunter, will meet this Monday, April 7th at 6pm in the Smart Community Room. Thomas goes into great depth about the many functions of digital cameras, so this group is a great fit for both beginner and experienced photographers.
