Come learn the basics of scrapbooking with Rebecca Freer. Ms. Freer will host a scrapbooking workshop this Saturday, June 24th, 2017 at 2pm in the Smart Community Room. You will leave with a completed page that can go in your own scrapbook or be framed to display in your home. If you have baby, wedding, or graduation photos you’ve been meaning to use, this would be a great place to learn some fun techniques.
Register now to reserve your spot in this popular workshop. The Friends of the Libraries are helping with the materials fee, so the cost is only $5.00. You will need to bring one or two 5×7 photos for your scrapbook page. Registration can be done in person at the library or by calling us at 563-1200.
If you spend a lot of time in a car, or just like being read to, audiobooks are a great option to accomplish all the books on your summer reading list. Join us on Wednesday, June 21st at 4pm for a tech class on audiobooks. We will look at both free and paid options to get audiobooks on your phone or tablet.
This class is free but registration is required. You can register online (by clicking here), in person at the library, or call us at 563-1200.
The library book discussion group will meet on Tuesday, June 13th, 2017 at 11:30am to talk about this month’s book, Commonwealth by Ann Patchett. New members are always welcome.
Through the end of June, nature photographer Rick Bunting will have his exhibit Florida Favorites on display in our Smart Community Room. Mr. Bunting is known for his passions for music and birds, and this photography exhibit will highlight some of his best bird photographs. Mr. Bunting is a well-known member of the Delaware-Otsego Audubon Society and has exhibited his artwork in both New York and Florida.
In observance of Memorial Day, the Sidney Library will be closed Monday May 29th, 2017. We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday.
Do you need help with your laptop, smartphone, tablet, or e-reader? Bring in the device, fully charged, to the PCC and let us help you one-on-one. You are also welcome to do genealogy research on our PCC computers.
Open Hours for May are both held from 4 – 6 pm:
- Wednesday May 17th, 2017
- Wednesday May 31st, 2017
What types of programs would you like to see presented at our library? Pick up one of our survey sheets at the Sidney Library, fill it out and return it with your thoughts and ideas for programs. You can also select your preference of a day and time for programs.
In the past we’ve had lectures from experts, musical performances, arts and crafts workshops, and more. We would love to hear what you want to see next!
