The McDonough Branch Library is housed in the Calvary Community Center, home of the former Calavary Episcopal Church in McDonough, NY. The beautiful old building with it's stained glass windows is on the National Historic Register.
As a branch of the Oxford Memorial Library the McDonough Branch is part of the Four County Library System. Patrons can check out a large variety of books and other materials and order items through Interlibrary Loan.
When you sign up for a McDonough Library card you will also receive a barcoded card for the Oxford Memorial Library if you do not already have an automated card in the Four County System. This allows you to go online and reserve books from home as well as utilized the Research Center, an invaluable collection of electronic databases.
The McDonough Branch and the Community Center offer a variety of programs for kids and adults. McDonough Branch is currently participating in the NYS Summer Reading Program, Be Creative @ Your Library with activities and programs for young and old. Give us a call for program dates and times.
With a library card and brief orientation you will be able to use our public access computers and Internet.
Plans are in the works for the library to go "on-line" and be a fully automated library at some point in the near future. Stay Tuned for details.
