FOVL Sunday Speaker Series—January 17, 2021

The Friends of the Village Library Sunday Speaker Series continues on Sunday, January 17,  with a talk by Antoinette Kuzminski, MD, on “Emerging Contaminants in Lake Otsego and the Susquehanna River.” Dr. Kuzminski served as attending physician and associate professor of medicine at Bassett Hospital from 1976-2016. After her retirement, she approached SUNY Oneonta’s Biological Field Station and the U.S. Geological Survey to study emerging contaminants in local waters. Her talk will discuss the potential for endocrine disruption in aquatic and human life.

Please note that the program on “The Struggle to Establish Broadband for Rural America,” originally scheduled for this date, has been rescheduled for Sunday, March 21.

February 21—A panel discussion exploring the “Legacy of Women Artists in Otsego County.” 

March 21—Tim Johnson, CEO Otsego Electric Coop, speaking on “The Struggle to Establish Broadband for Rural America”

April 18—David C. Brower, PhD,Dean and Professor at the School of Business & Hospitality Management, SUNY Delhi, will speak on “What Will We Eat in a Climate-Changing World?” Dr. Brower will be joined by members of the School’s Culinary Arts program, which has garnered national and international honors.

May 16—Coinciding with the opening of the Keith Haring exhibition at Fenimore Art Museum, Chris Rossi, Director of Exhibitions at the Fenimore, and Gary Cassinelli, collector and owner of artworks in the exhibition, will speak on “Keith Haring: His Art and Times.”
