Stand up and be counted! If you haven’t already filled out your 2020 US Census online yet, it’s not too late. Your answers to the census to this year’s census determine how much funding our state and towns receive. Services such as libraries, schools, police, and fire departments as well as new roads are some of the things that are affected by your response.
Filling out your census only takes a few minutes. All answers given will be safe and kept strictly confidential. For those who can’t access the internet, the Afton Free Library will be glad to help out via our own computers.
Our next Board of Trustees meeting will be held on July 21st at 5:30 P.M. in the Jack Bolster Community Center, 105 Main Street, home to the Afton Free Library and the Office of the Village of Afton. Business and concerns will be discussed. This meeting will be open to the public, so please join us.
We are pleased to be able to open our doors again to the public. New books are arriving for our patrons, holds and deliveries are picking up. Our summer reading program is in session, do stop by for an activity packet for each child. Catch some of our online story-times on our Facebook page. Your kids will thank you. Masks and social distancing are a must. Be helpful, call ahead, and let us know that you are on your way. Call or e-mail us, we want to help you. Let’s have a great summer.
