Shelly Reuben at the Afton Free Library- April 28

Join us on Saturday, April 28 as author Shelly Reuben will be introducing her new novel. The book titled My Mostly Happy Life: Autobiography of a Climbing Tree is fictional account of the oddly shaped trees as told a narrator tree. Also, meet Shelly’s ferret Homer, who inspired the ferret named Winston, in this story. We will  also be having a poetry contest based on writing about your favorite tree.

Books from the event will be available for purchase. Refreshments are also available.

Rules for Poetry Contest

The rules are simple: Write a poem about your favorite tree. It can be a Giant Redwood, a Bonsai, or a tree in your own backyard. It can be lovable, scary, or imaginary.
Just put your feelings about it in a poem, and bring it to the library by Saturday, April 14.
Shelly will pick her favorite poem and read it aloud after her talk. The writer of the poem will also get a free copy of Shelly’s new book!
